United States: a corpse, a girl and 150 reptiles found in a house

Following a call from concerned relatives, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania police officers entered the home of a 23-year-old man. They discovered the body of the missing man, a 3-year-old girl and 150 reptiles, 60 of which are poisonous.

It is almost a zoological park discovered by the police of Pittsburgh, in the United States.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, they entered a house in this Pennsylvania town where they discovered the body of a 23-year-old man and a 3-year-old girl, alive, on his high chair. They lived with about 150 reptiles of which at least 60 are poisonous.

On the day of the incident, the police received a worrying call. The relatives of a 23-year-old young man living in Pittsburgh are worried because he has not been heard from for a long time. A patrol therefore goes to his address and decides to enter the house.

Inside, they discover a veritable jungle: 150 reptiles, of which at least 60 are poisonous. “There was a cobra, a rattlesnake, black mambas,” one of the agents told our American colleagues. But that's not the worst:

Continuing their progress, the police discover the lifeless body of the 23-year-old young man they are looking for. Further on, they come across a 3-year-old girl, installed in her high chair, right next to a poisonous snake left loose in the house.

The child, whose life is not in danger, was entrusted to child protective services while the reptiles were recovered by an exotic pet store.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the family had arrived in this house two months earlier and traded in reptiles.

An autopsy has been commissioned to clarify the circumstances of this tragedy but its results have not yet been made public.

Natural death? Deadly venomous bite? Murder? All possibilities remain open.
