This is the part of our body that we absolutely should not wash according to science

When we are lounging in the shower, it seems obvious that we have to scrub every millimeter of our body well. This may seem obvious, and yet it is not necessarily the case.

If a large part of our body must imperatively be cleaned daily with care when it comes to bath time, other more sensitive parts must, on the contrary, be attacked as little as possible.

This is particularly the case for the ears , which it would be preferable not to wash, at the risk of injury. This American study, published in The Journal of Pediatrics, even attests to the dangerousness of this act, which is far from trivial.

As explained by Dr. Kris Jatana , one of the authors of this report, by washing his ears, it is very easy to damage or even perforate his eardrums . All it takes is a slightly violent jet of water, or a cotton swab pushed in a little too violently or deeply to create irreversible damage.

Leave aside all these cleaning tools to introduce directly into the ears, because these must be handled with great care and gentleness .

In addition to being potentially dangerous, these instruments do not really clean the ears. By their action, they actually only push the earwax to the bottom of them, increasing the risk of creating plugs, developing infections or weakening your eardrums.

Even if it is possible for these to rebuild themselves, often a surgical operation will be necessary in order to repair them.

To prevent your ears from a cleaning incident and keep them clean, use an ear spray that promotes the removal of earwax and gently cleans the ear canal.
